We sterilize all instruments after each patient using an chemclave sterilizer. An independent testing agency is used monthly to verify the effectiveness of our sterilizer. Many other items such as needles, paper products, and gloves are disposable and used only once. Our office uses universal precaution techniques which means we wear gloves, masks, protective clothing, and protective eyewear when working on any patient. This has been proven almost 100% effective in prevention of the spread of communicable diseases such as hepatitis and AIDS in healthcare facilities such as hospitals and dental offices.
